Dr. Deshmukh is the President and Founder of Simple Origin, where he has led rapid global expansion, establishing a presence in more than 20 countries in under a decade. With a multidisciplinary background spanning Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Business Administration, he brings technical depth and strategic leadership to the organization.
During his PhD research, he conducted pioneering work in in-situ Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), contributing to advances in nanoscale materials characterization. He is an inventor and designer, holding numerous patents focused on solving complex engineering challenges.
Under his leadership, Simple Origin is recognized for forward-thinking technology, customer-focused solutions, and global reach.
Building on a lifelong passion for creation, Jake possesses a versatile skill set. Having taken coursework in Mechanical Engineering at Penn State Erie, he went on to gain invaluable hands-on experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and machining.
He leverages this comprehensive manufacturing knowledge to drive success and achieve goals at Simple Origin.
With a master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of Bologna (Italy), Francesca combines analytical thinking with hands-on organization to support our daily operations.
She manages purchasing, inventory, shipments, and invoicing to ensure smooth, reliable day-to-day operations across the company.
Nicholas Zurawsky is an engineer and writer at Simple Origin with bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and public and professional writing.
He combines creativity with technical expertise to drive product innovation and help the company grow.
Aaron is an experienced fabricator with more than a decade in Pittsburgh’s startup and maker communities. He specializes in transforming early concepts into market-ready products, drawing on expertise in additive manufacturing, CNC machining, robotics, electronics, lithium battery integration, and laser cutting.
He joined Simple Origin from a precision machine shop, bringing extensive knowledge in precision manufacturing and advanced fabrication methods.

Hans R. Tietz is the founder of Tietz Video and Image Processing Systems (TVIPS) and a respected pioneer in the field of electron microscopy imaging technology. He completed his diploma at the renowned laboratory of Prof. Hoppe at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany, where he contributed to early advancements in image processing for Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).
In 1987, Hans established TVIPS with a vision to push the boundaries of digital imaging in electron microscopy. Under his leadership, TVIPS evolved from a specialized startup into a global technology provider. The company is now recognized for its innovative contributions to high-performance camera systems, image processing solutions, and advanced tools for electron microscopy.
Hans brings to the advisory team decades of technical expertise and entrepreneurial experience, along with deep insight into the electron microscopy industry. His guidance continues to shape forward-thinking strategies and support innovation across the field.
Dr. Stumpf is the Chief Executive Officer of M-Stumpf GmbH based in Germany and a valued member of Simple Origin’s advisory board. With over two decades of experience in electron microscopy within the Life Sciences and Material Sciences, he provides scientific expertise, strategic leadership and European representation for Simple Origin.
Shinji serves as an Advisor to Simple Origin. He holds a PhD in cryo-electron microscopy with a specialization in tomography and brings over 10 years of experience in the cryo-EM field, with expertise in cryo-electron tomography and high-resolution single-particle analysis.
